In its February 3, 2008 regular meeting, the CIBC Elders decided to realign the overseers of the six standing committees of the church. In line with this, a call to review and evaluate the existing discipleship program of the church was made by the Pastor. Towards this call, a Discipleship Evaluation Committee was formed whose main task was to evaluate the present discipleship program and make recommendations to strengthen and revitalize the program to achieve its central purpose. The committee met for five Sundays starting on March 2, 2008 and completed its task on May 4, 2008.

The new Sunday School recommendations went into effect on Sunday, September 14, 2008.
