"Home-Sweet-Home" is Clarkston International Bible Church's Furniture Ministry

"Home Sweet Home" is a little brick house, formerly a residence, situated on the edge of some property purchased by Clarkston Baptist Church (now Clarkston International Bible Church). Soon after the church built a Christian Life Center we decided that this house could be used as a missionary project. We collect donated furniture from members and friends and give it to the refugees of our community, to fire victims, to battered women coming out of shelters, and to anyone who needs it. No one is turned away.

In the Fall of 2009, CIBC purchased these two houses. The white one is 954 Rowland Street and the grey one is 960 Rowland Street. The acquisition of these two properties has allowed CIBC to expand the "Home-Sweet-Home" furniture ministry by providing additional space to accept donations for distribution to the local community refugees. In the past there were times that donations had to be turned down because there was not enough space to hold any more furniture, linens, utensils, etc.

There is a constant need for good, serviceable items of furniture, sheets, towels, kitchen utensils, small appliances (microwaves, toasters, fans, etc.) The CIBC furniture ministry does not accept large appliances (stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc.)

Behind both of these houses there are additional parking spaces that can be used as needed to compliment the main CIBC parking lots. These parking spaces are accessible from Church Street.

We are always in need of good, serviceable furniture, sheets, towels, dishes, and cooking utensils. If you would like to donate any of these items, please contact the church office at (404) 296-6483.

The Home-Sweet-Home Ministry is in desperate need of a 15 passenger van that could be driven by our Director to pick-up and deliver furniture donations. It needs to be large enough to transport a sofa when the passerger seats are removed.

It can do double duty by transporting refugee kids to church when the passenger seats are installed.
