A Brief History of CBBF
At the home of the pastor on January 21, 1995, a group of family members gathered together to study the Word of God. God led and strengthened them and added to their number despite some difficult times. After five years of praying and studying the Word of God, they were led by the Spirit of God to plant a church within the Stone Mountain-Clarkston Community. They began with a handful of family members on June 13, 1999, at the home of the pastor. Under the leadership of Dr. Peter Nehsahn, the church has grown to over one hundred forty-five members.
The Ministry of Caring Believers Bible Fellowship Church was granted “501 (c) (3)” status by the Internal Revenue Service on February 23, 2003.
The church owns a fourteen-passenger van to help us in our Evangelistic and Outreach Ministries. CBBF has an active Benevolence Ministry to meet the needs of all families inside and outside the church. We have also begun an active process to acquire a 5-acre plot of land on Stephenson Road in Lithonia, GA.
As we celebrate our 10th Anniversary, we want to exalt and praise God for the awesome work He is doing in our community. We invite you to be a part of this unique group of Christians who believe in the scriptural mandate that we are to “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Gal 6.2).
If you care about people and you are truly a faithful and dedicated burdens bearer (Galatians 6.2), this is your church. If you care about missions and the desire to spread the Gospel to other people groups, come and worship with us every Sunday morning, beginning at 10:45 A.M. Services are designed for every working family; two hours only; no more, no less. Come witness what God can do within two hours!
The New Testament church has always thrived on love. In the early church the Christians were driven by Christ’s love that they literally bore each other’s burdens. It was not communal living or a system of communism, but oneness in spirit and truth. The Scripture affirmed that “All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had” (Acts 4.32). Christ demonstrated Christians loving and caring for each other by washing His disciples’ feet (John 13.1-15). You may not literally wash your Christian brothers and sisters’ feet, but sharing and bearing their burdens is fulfilling Christ’s command. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13.34-35, NIV).
