Meet Your Missionaries
Laurie and Kevin Riley came to Clarkston International Bible Church from Zion Baptist Church in January, 2008. Kevin is a Mission Service Corp missionary appointed by the North American Mission Board. In addition to his job as Mission Coordinator at our church, Kevin also works as a tennis coach in Conyers. Laurie works full time with Keep Covington/Newton Beautiful, a community organization that provides environmental education and oversees beautification projects. She plays a support role in Kevin's ministry. Kevin and Laurie have two boys--Jim, 10 and Matt, 4. They live in Covington.
As a Mission Service Corp missionary, Kevin raises his own financial support. He works to coordinate activities for mission teams from other churches who come to CIBC to help support the continuous ministry and outreach efforts of the church. Your financial support of Kevin's ministry at Clarkston International Bible Church helps keep him on the field. Without generous contributions, he could no longer serve as a missionary.
When your team comes to Clarkston, please plan to take a love offering to help with ongoing expenses of the mission work. Financial support for the Rileys' ministry can be made to the North American Mission Board, P. O. Box 116543 Atlanta, Georgia 30368 MEMO: Kevin Riley Account #9048. To contribute online, go to www.namb.net, click on “Give Now”, and follow the instructions.

Why should we come to Clarkston on a mission trip? Come to minister to refugees who may have never before heard the gospel! Clarkston is home to more than 7,000 (some estimates say 15,000) refugees from all over the world. You will meet Liberians, French Africans, Eritreans, Sudanese, Ethiopians, Burmese, Bhutanese, Burundians, Iraqis, Somalis, Turks, Afganis, etc.. Many adhere to Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Most have never heard a clear presentation of the Gospel. In additon to their greatest need--salvation--they have many material needs. The fields are white for harvest in Clarkston.
When can a mission team from our Church come to Clarkston? We offer year-around ministry opportunities-- Weekend Teams (Friday-Sunday), Spring Break (Saturday-Saturday), Summer Outreach Teams (Saturday-Saturday), and Holidays!
What types of ministry can our team be involved in? We offer a variety of ministries for every team, depending on community needs and team interests and gifts--Block Parties, Summer Camps, Backyard Bible Clubs, Construction Projects, Prayer Walking, Ethnic Church Outreach, Sports Camps, Holiday Food Basket and Gift Box distribution.
What if our church is interested in long-term ministry in Clarkston? WOW! Now you are on to something that will change the life of your entire church. Clarkston International Bible Church provides an Internet Cafe' for internationals. We always need volunteers for this ministry. We have a constant need for English as a Second Language teachers. After-school ministry (homework help, tutoring) in a specific apartment community is needed. We have seven different language churches. Your church can choose to work with a specific language church. This is especially effective if your church is working with the same people group eslewhere. We need volunteers to build relationships with newly arrived families. Imagine yourself in a new country. Wouldn't it be helpful to have a friend to walk with you as you learned to live in a new culture?
Where can our mission team stay? Clarkston International Bible Church has sleeping accommodations for 50 people. If your team is larger, several churches in the area are available to handle additional housing needs. Our church has a kitchen (bring your own food and cooks) and shower facilities.
We want to come. What next? Contact Kevin Riley, Mission Coordinator. You can reach him by email at Riley10sdad@aol.com or call the church office at 404-296-6483.
We see a day when Clarkston International Bible Church will reach all the people in our ministry field and provide them with an opportunity to become a part of a ministering and multiplying congregation.
